Edge Devices
The mDNS Edge Devices Screen displays information about mDNS Edge Devices. The screen is also used to edit or delete Edge Devices. Switches/Stellar APs are created when configuring a Responder Device.
Note: The following devices can be configured as Edge Devices: OS6465, OS6560, OS6860, OS6865, OS6900, and OS9900, running AOS 8.5R1 and higher; and Stellar APs running 4.0.1 and higher (except for OAW-AP1101). Only supported devices or AP Groups containing supported devices are available for selection.
Editing an Edge Device
Select an Edge Device in the Edge Devices List, click on the Edit icon, complete the fields as described below, then Click on the Apply button.
- Edge Device IP Address - Pre-filled with the device IP address.
- mDNS Admin Status - Enables/Disabled mDNS on the device (Default - Enabled).
- VLANs - The VLANs associated with the Edge Device.
- Loopback0 IP Address - The device Loopback IP address.
Note: To delete an Edge Device, remove it from the associated Responder Device on the Responder Devices Screen. Go to the Responders Devices Screen, select the Responder Device associated with the Edge Device and click on the Edit icon. Go to the "Edge Devices Selection" area and remove the Edge Device(s).
Edge Devices List
- Device Friendly Name - The device IP address (or user-configured device name).
- AP Group Name - The AP Group name, if applicable.
- mDNS Admin Status - The mDNS administrative status on the device.
- Operational Status - The mDNS operational status. If a device does not have a Loopback0 IP address or it is unreachable, the operational status will be down (Up/Down).
- VLANs/SSIDs - The VLANs/SSIDs associated with the device. The number of VLANs/SSIDs is displayed. Hover over, or click on the link to display a list of VLANs/SSIDs.
- Loopback0 IP - The device Loopback0 IP address.
- Responder IP Address - The IP address of the Responder Device associated with the Edge Device.
